ABOUT JAMES W. ABRAHAM - ATTORNEY AT LAW

Jim Abraham grew up in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, a small town located between Hershey and Harrisburg. His Father owned a grocery store on Main Street and while growing up, Jim worked on the farms just outside of town, as well as in his Father's store. Jim was active in sports from childhood through high school, particularly football and track. After graduating from high school, Jim attended Shippensburg University, majoring in Political Science and Education. He continued playing football and track at Shippensburg, earning six varsity letters.

After graduating from Shippensburg in 1978, Jim was a high school social studies teacher and football coach in the Harrisburg area. He also remained active in sports playing semi-professional football. In 1983, Jim left the teaching profession for law school and in 1986, he received his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. While at Dickinson, Jim was named to the Association of Trial Lawyers Trial Moot Court team and represented Dickinson in regional competition; and he was one of the ten students in his class to be named to the Order of Barristers.

After graduating from Dickinson in 1986, Jim practiced law for five years and then decided to go into business for himself; and on January 13, 1992, he opened Abraham Law Offices. Jim is a member of the Dauphin County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the Dauphin County Bar Association Family Law Section; and he was the President of the Dauphin County Bar Association Young Lawyer's Division in 1992.
