ABOUT JAMES W. ABRAHAM - ATTORNEY AT LAW
Jim Abraham grew up in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, a small town located between
Hershey and Harrisburg. His Father owned a grocery store on Main Street and
while growing up, Jim worked on the farms just outside of town, as well as in
his Father's store. Jim was active in sports from childhood through high
school, particularly football and track. After graduating from high school, Jim
attended Shippensburg University, majoring in Political Science and Education.
He continued playing football and track at Shippensburg, earning six varsity
letters.
After graduating from Shippensburg in 1978, Jim was a high school social
studies teacher and football coach in the Harrisburg area. He also remained
active in sports playing semi-professional football. In 1983, Jim left the
teaching profession for law school and in 1986, he received his law degree from
the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. While at Dickinson, Jim
was named to the Association of Trial Lawyers Trial Moot Court team and
represented Dickinson in regional competition; and he was one of the ten
students in his class to be named to the Order of Barristers.
After graduating from Dickinson in 1986, Jim practiced law for five years and
then decided to go into business for himself; and on January 13, 1992, he
opened Abraham Law Offices. Jim is a member of the Dauphin County and
Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the Dauphin County Bar Association Family Law
Section; and he was the President of the Dauphin County Bar Association Young
Lawyer's Division in 1992.
